“I’m terrified of giving birth because I don’t know what to expect. What if something goes wrong? What if the pain is unbearable?”

Does this sound like you?

No need to be terrified. Childbirth Education…

✓ reduces anxiety and fear by providing a clear understanding of the birth process, pain management options, and potential complications..

✓ improves birth outcomes and increases the use of natural pain relief. Educated birthing people are more likely to effectively use creating, movement, and other coping strategies during labor.

✓ increases breastfeeding success rates. Those who attend class are more likely to initiate and sustain breastfeeding as the class provides essential information on techniques, benefits, resources, and overcoming common challenges.

In the U.S., evidence-based, low-risk models of care are underutilized while higher-risk interventions are used too often.

THIS IS WHY I DEVELOPED THIS COURSE.

The need to meet goals and adhere to quotas translate to a significant amount of stress and trauma for mothers and babies.

My desire is to do what I can to reframe the

Black birthing experience.

Despite spending incredible amounts of money in healthcare, Black women are more likely to die during childbirth from these interventions and this number is not improving in the US.

As a birth worker, I understand racism is a factor in poor birth outcomes. I do not believe all doctors, practitioners, and medical staff are racist, however we do operate in a system that is deeply flawed and rooted in bias. Our professionals have been trained in and working in this system for years.

My work is culturally aligned and the support I provide centers BIPOC birthing people. I ensure that every person has respectful, culturally aligned care that meets their needs and keeps them safe.

Fear is paralyzing  and when we hold on to fear,

we make room for our fears to develop.

Honest, non-bias, and culturally competent childbirth education provides you with the information you need to control your energy, your preparation, and your space.
