ROO IS …

A maternal wellness company providing pregnancy & birth support, education, and advocacy DEEPLY ROOTED IN EVIDENCE & CULTURAL COMPETENCY.

Roo’s logo, a kangaroo & it’s joey, represents the sacred and deep, instinctual bond it fosters between mother and offspring, as well as the nurturing environment it provides. Kangaroo care emphasizes the sanctity of life and the natural processes that sustain it. It highlights the importance of care, protection, and nurturing in the early stages of life.

simply put, it symbolizes maternal love and the sacred duty of a mother.

Hey, I’m Jazmine.

From just ‘another statistic’ to Mother of 3, Birth Doula, Childbirth Educator, Prenatal Yoga Teacher, Nursing Student, & Future Midwife.

36 hours of labor, Pitocin IV drip, 2 failed epidurals, 6 hospital shift changes, & 2 hours of pushing later, my 1st blessing Scarlett Michelle was born into this world.

The stories about birth and labor that I had grown to ‘know’ growing up were that pregnancy was fragile, complicated, and common. I’ve heard, “Women get pregnant everyday, you’re not the only one feeling like that.” I believed natural births were for the fit and privileged, and getting an epidural equaled weak; c-sections = bad.

What I know now is, everyone’s birth experience is beautiful and we need more love than money in birth work. There is immense grace, power, and wisdom in co-creating life and it requires a glow that shines from inside out. This is a call to all women to reclaim their bodies and the birth process as sacred, not medicinal.

I curate powerful birth experiences for women of color through education, advocacy, & dismantling generational trauma.

Birth is hard work and support is heart work
